Jessica Garay, PhD, RDN, CSSD, FAND, CSCS, RYT-200 is the founder of Major League Wellness. Jessica has experience providing one-on-one and group nutrition education to high school, college, and recreational athletes.
Jessica is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition at Syracuse University. She is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and is certified in Adult Weight Management through the Committee on Dietetic Registration. In addition to her nutrition credentials, Jessica is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance.
Jessica received her undergraduate degree in nutrition from Cornell University, followed by a dietetic internship in Yavapai County, Arizona. Jessica began her nutrition career at the Food Bank of Central New York. She then earned a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science, with a concentration in Exercise, Nutrition, and Eating Behavior, from George Washington University’s School of Public Health. During this time, she worked as an outpatient oncology dietitian at the Washington Cancer Institute. Jessica completed a PhD in Science Education/Exercise Physiology from Syracuse University, where her dissertation research focused on fetal programming.
She is an active member of the Central New York Dietetic Association, New York State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (NYSAND), and several Dietetic Practice Groups. Jessica currently serves on the Legislative and Public Policy Committee for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Jessica is an athlete in many ways herself, having completed sprint triathlons and road races up to half-marathons. She currently enjoys Les Mills Body Pump & Body Combat, yoga, tennis, and hiking.
